A wedding meant to be!

Romantic, passionate, outrageously fun and ambitious beyond your wildest imagination sum up this dynamic duo. They already have and will continue to make anything happen and in stylish fashion. This pair first met atop Mt. Kilimanjaro, reside in Paris and travels extensively. Sounds pretty stylish!

A wedding at The Sundeck at the top of Aspen Mountain lends itself to breathtaking beauty and grandeur. This is a favorite venue to photograph. The Little Nell Hotel and its staff catered to Sabrina’s last minute preps before she departed on the Silver Queen Gondola to the Wedding Deck. Sebastian soon followed with his family. The guests enjoyed an epically classic Colorado day where blue skies are the bluest. Shortly after the family photos were completed, all attending entered the reception, which was distinctively designed by The Aspen Branch and coordinated by Creative Weddings. The bride and groom triumphantly entered the party to greet and mingle. Dinner flowed into toasts while a gorgeous sunset made its statement. Sabrina, Sebastian and I slipped away to make good with the skies colors. Returning for a spin and a twist on the dance floor the couple’s evening glided away. Glittering sparklers held by admiring guests lightened the pathway for the newlywed’s grand departure and culmination to a delightful occasion. Thanks again to you both – it was a treat!

A lot of variations occur on the actual wedding day but Megan and Jonathan’s offered a unique twist.  This one will always bring back a smile. Our first meeting together at Starbuck’s gave me a special insight into this couple.  Their embrace, fervent hugs and the gleam of excitement as they peered into each other’s eyes showed me that they were a great match. I enjoyed and marveled in their love as I do my own. They celebrated at an exclusive private Aspen home overlooking the Roaring Fork Valley and surrounding mountains. A slight spattering of rain began at the ceremony and progressively increased throughout the day until it deluged at the reception. This never really seemed to faze anyone, especially the bride when she strolled down to the trampoline and sprang off into the pool with her wedding dress still on!!! I have photographed “trash the dress” sessions after wedding day, but never on the actual day – cool stuff.  One of the flower girls then decided that if the bride could go into the pool fully dressed that she could do the same with her shoes and dress on also! You can only guess what tempo this set for the rest of the day. Rain never stopped anyone in Aspen before, no reason that it should do so on this grand day either.

You just want to cheer when an homegrown Carbondale girl and a respectful smiling young man knot their lives together. A huge swaying Cottonwood tree encircled by a tasseled grassy field overlooking the ominous Mt. Sopris set the stage. Sunlight creased its way through the pinons as a gorgeous array of flowers watched on as Becky and Jason glided down the aisle graced by a rainbow of rose petals tossed in the air by friends. Their occasion was meticulously designed and coordinated by event planning specialist Five Star Events. All the unique details showed forth especially as the newly wed couple entered the twinkling lite reception. The band commenced for Becky and Jason’s first spin together. Toasts brought forth many a smile and tear. Dusk faded to nightfall as the festivities continued into the evening hours. I found three keys mounted next to a doorway which signified to me the opening of their lives together by a simple turn of a key – they both have done just that!

When Karla and Dave came my direction I knew that this pair was going to be full of laughs and plenty of fun. True to form, their wedding proved to be just that also! Surrounded by friends and family that love to rock and have a wild time, on no less than the Fourth of July. What could be better than to celebrate on such a date. Fireworks, flags, huge splashes in the pond, a lot of love and way too much fun landed this pair a real festive occasion not to be rivaled. Cannot wait to see what they will do for an encore!

The pleasure of imaging Alicia and Sly’s intimate wedding by the Crystal River was an absolute delight! I loved being by riverside when this close knit couple gathered with family and friends. Always a treat returning to the artisan community of Redstone, Colorado where the three of us roamed downtown (only a single street with no stop lights!) for a few fun shots afterwards. We also made a quick stop by the classic old Redstone General Store where they still serve homemade ice cream, candy canes and other sweets in glass jars. Fun, sweet and an amazing love sums up this pair. Cheers to you both on your upcoming move from Denver, Colorado to the big state of Texas.

Just gotta love it when a really special couple graces and touches your heart. Lindsay and Jon are an amazing pair made for each other! Lindsay and her girls prepared at the beautiful Main Lodge at Aspen Glen, located in Carbondale, Colorado, while Jon and the guys eased back at the Fisherman’s Cabin in Coryell Ranch awaiting their arrival. Emotions brought forth joyful tears as Lindsay gracefully walked down the aisle escorted by her father. In the ceremony’s midst,  the skies darkened with a strong turbulent swirling wind. Everyone scurried underneath the tented reception site just after the wedlock was completed. The weather broke allowing the three of us to play magic with a vivid yellow parasol. Tucked behind and ready for a kiss, the couple seized a quiet moment as I  used a few new photo techniques to capture the moment.  Returning to the reception Jon and Lindsay took to the dance floor while saving a few steps and smiles for their parents.  Later into the evening we slipped away for a quiet stroll along the lake. The peaceful and serene dusk graced the evening as Lindsay and Jon relaxed into each others arms.  Family and friends kicked back and talked as the pair danced the night away!

Dedication, determination, charm, sincerity, honesty and a true passion for her family and friends make for a very special and unique person in Kelly Tick. Her rite of age, religious responsibility and duty were experienced by all attending her Bat Mitzvah ceremony at the Aspen Chapel (aka Prince of Peace Chapel). A powerful springtime snow squall blanketed the Aspen, Colorado area as astonished guests departed the chapel. Everyone gingerly found their way to the party at Bumps Restaurant by the base of Buttermilk Mountain. Contrasting the snow, an island theme set the stage for a raging Aspen style party full of merriment, dancing, food and a variety of activities. Cheers to you Kelly for all your energies placed on attaining such a notable goal!

Mindy and Coby make a wonderful couple, full of vitality, fun and laughs. “The Brady Bunch” title  was coined for this evenly matched family, Coby with his three sons and Mindy adorned by her three girls. The children intertwine a charismatic blend of personalities making for a really neat family. Vows were exchanged at the historically quaint Redstone Inn nestled within the artisan community of Redstone, Colorado. Family and friends had the unique opportunity to inscribe their thoughtful words in Aspen log rounds engraved by a Dremel rotary tool. Additional highlights were the adventurous bubble gum blowing bride, a robust arrangement of flowers brought by the groom as a surprise, sunlight graced the mountain tops at days end, and little children sleeping soundly in their cribs as adults danced the night away.

In the pre dawn hours Aspen Mountain became shrouded in mystical clouds. Sharing the first gondola mountain ride up with the bride and groom, we became engulfed within a fantasy created by the clouds. The sun burst it’s rays of grandeur upon us revealing the splendor of the day. Tearful eyes and smiles of joy surfaced during an emotional ceremony that was heightened by the pulsating clouds. The families reveled in touching ski poles together, creating a chapel of love as the excited newlyweds proceeded back down the aisle as one.  Everyone cheered as Lisa and Matt prepared to snowboard and ski down the mountain in harmony!  Lisa carved graceful turns with veil flowing and bouquet in hand as Matt aired a few jumps.  These two know how to rip! Everyone gathered at the quintessential Little Nell Hotel for breakfast and a toast to Lisa and Matt.

The extremely hip couple, Magda and Marcin, have a love so eminently hot that fire sparks would seem cool!  Staged at Aspen, Colorado’s contemporary Sky Hotel, the atmosphere was adorned with lit candles, dramatic lighting and unique furnishings that set an ambiance of dynamic proportion for the exchange of vows and celebration. The first act drew nearby close friends and family from afar to share and bond with each other. Scene two returns M & M back to their native Poland for a celebration of much larger magnitude.

I coined these two M&M because of their continual playfulness, intoxicating charm and always being ready for “game on”.  Try shaking and sampling a bag of M&M candies and notice what a sweet smile comes to your face from these brightly colored treats.  This pair does just the same!
